The champions are now five points ahead as they seek to retain their Premier League crown and the winger believes Roberto Mancini's men are buckling under the pressure.Manchester United winger Ashley Young believes neighbours Manchester City are buckling under the pressure as the Premier League title race approaches its climax.
City had been seven points clear earlier in the season, but a recent collapse which has included Mancini’s men recording just one win in their previous four league games, has handed the initiative to United.
"The pressure has always been on City, there aren't any nerves coming from our side"Sir Alex’s men could potentially clinch their 20th title at the Etihad Stadium on April 30th, and Young believes City are beginning to lose their nerve.
“I think they’re fearing our reaction already,” he told Match of the Day magazine.
“A lot of people wrote us off earlier in the season with City being seven points clear. But we’ve just been going about our job quietly and now we’ve clawed it back.”
Despite a lacklustre showing in the Europa League, United’s domestic form has been exemplary of late, winning all of their previous seven games.
And while Young believes City are crumbling under the pressure, he says there are no signs of nerves in the Old Trafford camp.
He continued: “The pressure has always been on City, there aren’t any nerves coming from our side. We don’t play with fear and we haven’t got nervousness going into games. We’ve got the momentum.”[Source]
