Round of 32
Chelsea started their UEFA Champions League with Manager Andre Villas Boas. In presence of Andre Villas Boas Cheslea played tough matches in their champions league matches but they managed to snatch the score on their side.in group matches Chelsea faced lots of controversies. Their players were sometimes in and some times out because of injury. Chelsea dominance was not shown in champions league group matches but everyone has the eyes on the True Blues. In round of 32 they got an easy draw and they played a great game in that match.
Round of 16
After round of 32 they got draw against Italian club SSC Napoli in round of 16. Andre Villas Boas knew that it will a tough game because 1st leg was playing in SSC Napoli home ground.SSC Napoli scored opening goal in 27th minute then Mata leveled it in 38th minute but then in 45th minute Cawani scored for Napoli and in 65th minute another goal was potted by Lavezzi.in that game Chelsea lose by 3-1.After that lose the owner of Chelsea team sacked Andre Villas Boas for bad performance in round of 16. After all of that Interim Manager of Chelsea Dimatteos got the job for the 2nd leg match against SSC Napoli where all the fans are thinking that it will be a difficult for Chelsea now because opponent team got the edge of 2 goals but when 2nd leg started everything was going in favor of Chelsea in Stamford Bridge. Chelsea got the same result at the end of the game.when the final whistle blew the score was Chelsea 3-1 Napoli. Drogba , Terry and Lampard scored for Chelsea. On aggregate two teams leveled at 90 minute so extra time was taken and then the Screamers was crossing form Ivanovic. Dramatic match was seen by Chelsea on 14 March, 2012.A great comeback was seen from the true blues.Dimatteos tactics shown the turning game in Stamford Bridge.
Quarter Final
After a tough battle in round of 16 Chelsea proceed in next round of UCL 2012.In quarter final they got a draw against SL Benefica. In first leg of quarter final Benefica was dominating every move but it was Chelsea who found the net. Torres got an excellent run on right flank Then he played a superb ball for Kalou who potted the ball into the net.things were looking good for Chelsea in charge with care taker manager Dimatteos. In 2nd leg it was finished by 2-1.on aggregate Chelsea won by 3-1 against SL Benefica.
Semi Final
In Semi Final Chelsea got a tough draw and it was against last time UCL Champion Barcelona. Dimatteos and his side knew that it will be a tough task to win against the champion Barcelona. In 1st leg match Drogba scored only goal for Chelsea because Chelsea was playing full defensive game they were working hard on that game and on counter attack Drogba scored for Chelsea and shown that they will bot give up till the end of the match and few minutes after Ramires scored an awesome goal for Chelsea and he just turned the game up into the Chelsea favor. Every single player and fan of Barca was shocked. It was the superb finished by Chelsea. In the end of 1st leg match Chelsea won by 1-0, but in UCl away goal rule is on and Barca got the advantage of 1 away goal. Then in 2nd leg match which was played in Camp Nou ground and in that game Barca was shown a fireworks performance against Chelsea . They played very attacking game and they shown lots of their skills and Sergio Busquets scored first goal for Barca. Then somehow Chelsea managed to level the game. Messi pol once and few mins later he awarded by a penalty which was hit by right upper post. Everyone was in shocked that how he missed that on then Barca attack was countered on Chelsea's, they tried every thing but Chelsea defense was too strong then in stoppage time Torres scored on counter attack for Chelsea and finished into the net. Torres wrap the dreams of Chelsea in final.a marvelous set piece was shown by English side and Torres made no mistake. On aggregate Chelsea 4-3 Barcelona. Dimatteos got the markable result for Chelsea side. He shown that which kind of member he is in Chelsea. He got the determination,style, tactics and solid like a steel. A marvelous performance was shown by whole Chelsea team. When Chelsea beat Barca they were in hot seat and they were counted in winning of UCL trophy 2011-2012.
The Final
In final match Chelsea faced Bayern Munich and the final of UCL 2012 was played on Bay Arena which was the home ground of Bayern Munich. Two teams fought hard. They showed a great determination. It was Bayern Munich who found out the goal first. Every chelsea fans lost hopes but few minutes was left then Drogba managed to pot the ball into the net from his head and leveled the game. Then in extra time was taken both teams did hard efforts but they failed to score a single goal.then the match gone into the penalty kicks. Chelsea lost their last UCL on the same penalty kicks situation but this time in UCL 2012 Chelsea snatched the UCL trophy from the Bayern Munich team.Incrediable scene was shown by Chelsea supporters. All the fans were cheering their team because chelsea has Beaten the Bayern Munich in their home ground. Dimatteos showed tremendous run with Chelsea.he proved that he is the right man for Chelsea as a manager and set the record for their side.
